How do I remove the gold from the connectors on computer memory sticks?
Every google link I tried gave me things like " Turbo Memory Gold Remove unwanted overflows from memory" or stuff like that.Thanks I already know that there are going to be responses that say " it's not worth it." Are these two sets of computer memory sticks the EXACT same?
Hello My husband picked a specific type of computer memory for his Christmas present from TigerDirect.Com and I think I found the same memory at NewEgg.com for less money which would be great because then I can get him other gifts I know he'd like as well , however, I really don't know much about the inner workings of computers and I would hate to ruin his gift by getting the wrong stuff. What gets stored on a portable computer memory stick? And how do I use it?
A co worker just gave me a nice keychain, and inside is what he said is a memory stick. I can see the bold " 1G" on it, and that's about it. Since I could tell I was supposed to think it was a cool gift, I said, " Oh wow Thank you so much " But, in actuality, I don't know what I'm supposed to do with the thing. Can you help me?

Ok so i have no idea on what sizes memory sticks are better.What i want to do is get a memory stick as a just incase and so i will always have my information with me just incase.I have alot of files, mainly word and publisher files and photos.But i have a few of them, what size memory stick would i need?i had a look on the net and ebay brought up all these different sizes, eg 2 gb, 16gb etc, i have no idea how much info 2gb will hold or 16gb...... Can I use different Computer memory sticks together?
I just got a new computer desktop, and it had 512 mb of RAM in it to begin with 2x 256mb . I went ahead and ordered some Balistix 2x 1gb memory sticks. And I have more on the way.My motherboard allows me to use four memory sticks, so I was wondering until the rest of my memory arrives if I can put both the 2 1gb cards in along with the 2 256mb cards?

I have a memory stick that I just put a one page Microsoft document on. The document had two pictures, but before now the document's been fine.When I first put it in, it had a little icon on the bottom right toolbar saying something about compression a subject I STILL don't understand p Anyways, having never seen or at least noticed it before, I messed around with it and turned it off. Or at least tried I'm not sure if I succeeded So I loaded on the document, and then safely removed the little bugger. Out of habit, I inserted it again to make sure it all copied over safely and correctly. All was fine. However, when I tried pressing the " remove safely" button, this message kept popping up " The device " Generic volume" cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later." Well, it's been 10 minutes now, and it still isn't letting me safely remove it. Is simply pulling it out worth it? Will it ruin just the documents, or the whole memory stick?Thanks Sorry for the long entry I took it out, waited a minute or two, and put it back in. The document is fine. However, the message still appears. I'm just going to ignore it for now... Maybe after being shut down over night will clear it all up for next time.Thanks
